As of 6am on Saturday, 29th March 2025, a total of 77 mild aftershocks were recorded in Myanmar following the massive 7.7-magnitude earthquake near Mandalay on Friday afternoon.
The initial earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.7 and a depth of 10 km, was reported at around 1:20 pm near Mandalay, Burma
The earthquake and aftershocks were caused by the Sagaing Fault, a major fault in Myanmar. It passes through the populated cities of Mandalay, Yamethin, Pyinmana, the capital Naypyidaw, Toungoo, and Pegu before dropping into the Gulf of Martaban, running for a total length of over 1,200 kilometers.
၂၀၂၅ ခုနှစ် မတ်လ ၂၉ ရက်၊ စနေနံနက် ၆ နာရီအချိန်အထိ၊ မန္တလေးအနီးတွင် ဖြစ်ပွားသော ၇.၇ မဂ္ဂနီကျုဒ်မြန်မာပြည် ငလျင် ၏ နောက်ဆက်တွဲငလျင်များ ၇၇ ကြိမ် မှတ်တမ်းတင်ခဲ့သည်။
ပထမ ငလျင်သည် ၇.၇ မဂ္ဂနီကျုဒ်ရှိပြီး အနက် ၁၀ ကီလိုမီတာ အနက်ရှိကာ မန္တလေးအနီးတွင် ၂၀၂၅ ခုနှစ် မတ်လ 28 ရက် နေ့လည် ၁:၂၀ နာရီခန့်တွင် ဖြစ်ပွားခဲ့သည်။
ဤငလျင်နှင့် နောက်ဆက်တွဲငလျင်များသည် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံရှိ စစ်ကိုင်း Fault ကြောင့် ဖြစ်ပွားခဲ့သည်။ ၎င်းသည် မန္တလေး၊ ရမည်းသင်း၊ ပြင်ဦးလွင်၊ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ၏ မြို့တော် နေပြည်တော်၊ တောင်ငူနှင့် ပဲခူး ကဲ့သို့သော လူနေမှုထူထပ်သည့် မြို့များကို ဖြတ်သန်းပြီး မုတ္တမပင်လယ်ကွေ့သို့ ဆင်းသွားကာ စုစုပေါင်း ၁,၂၀၀ ကီလိုမီတာကျော်ရှည်လျားသည်။
